A rare pre-historic fossil, possibly 35 to 40 million years old, has been stolen from a village in Meghalaya, leaving people in shock and outraged. The fossil was discovered in May last year in the state's Tolegre village in South Garo Hills. The Geological Survey of India (GSI) had examined the site last year and collected samples. The fossil is possibly from the extinct Rodhocetus or Ambulocetus - early ancestors of modern whales. A case has been filed at the Siju Police Station and the police are on the lookout for the culprits, officials said. According to Meghalaya Education Minister Rakkam Sangma, the state government was planning to build a museum at the site. "The villagers informed me...They have filed an FIR. India's diplomacy stands out globally for its ability to balance ties between adversaries. The latest example of this is happening this week. UK Man's Bitcoin Treasure Worth $750 Million Lost Forever. Here's Why

A judge has halted a man's legal bid to recover his 600 million pounds (nearly $750 million) Bitcoin fortune, lost in a landfill 10 years ago. James Howells, 39, initiated the lawsuit after discarding the hard drive containing his cryptocurrency in Newport, Wales, in 2013, according to the BBC . Since his misfortune, Howells has proposed fully funding the excavation process and offering 25% of the recovered Bitcoin to the Newport City Council.  However, the council rejected his proposal, sparking a decade-long effort by Howells to recover his lost cryptocurrency. On Thursday, it was reported that Circuit Commercial Judge for Wales, Judge Keyser, dismissed Howells' lawsuit seeking permission to conduct the excavation. In his ruling, Judge Keyser stated that Howells had "no reasonable grounds" for filing the claim and that there was "no realistic prospect" of success if the case proceeded to trial.  "The particulars of the claim do not demonstrate an...

"Love Staring At My Wife": Anand Mahindra Amid Row Over L&T Chief's Remark

Weighing in on the much-debated topic of work-life balance and putting in more working hours as suggested by some corporate leaders in the recent past, Mahindra Group Chairman Anand Mahindra said he believed in the quality of work and not the quantity. Addressing the Viksit Bharat Young Leaders Dialogue 2025 here in the national capital, Anand Mahindra, said that the ongoing debate was wrong because it emphasises on quantity of working hours. But I have to say something, I think this debate is in the wrong direction," Anand Mahindra told the youth. "My point is we have to focus on the quality of work, not on the quantity of work. Why Trudeau's Exit Could Mean End Of The Road For Indian Students, Workers

The resignation of Canada's prime minister Justin Trudeau has sparked intense discussions among immigration experts about the future of international students there. Many experts view Trudeau's tenure from 2015 to 2023 as a golden era for international students, particularly Indians, who greatly benefited from liberal immigration policies. According to data from Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC), approximately 1.3 million Indian students received study permits between 2015 and 2024. In 2015, only 31,920 Indian students held study permits, accounting for 14.5% of the total international student population. By 2023, this number surged to 278,250, representing 40.7% of the total international student population. However, new measures introduced by the Canadian government, such as capping the number of international students and tightening study permit processes, have led to a 4% decline in Indian students receiving study permits in 2024.
