The World's Easiest Places To Buy Citizenship, Here's What It Takes

Ever imagined trading your current passport for one that opens doors to exciting new adventures? While it might sound like a far-fetched dream, several countries offer citizenship programs that could make it a reality. Although obtaining a citizenship or residency is not cheap, if it is a priority, the investment is worth it. But before that, let's establish the difference between citizenship and residency. Citizenship guarantees you all the rights a person born in that country would enjoy, for instance - having a passport and the right to vote. However, residency differs in a few ways. While it gives you the freedom to travel freely across the country, work and get paid there, it does not offer all the rights it would a citizen. Moreover, temporary residency lasts for a set period of time while permanent residency does not have a cap on time.  Golden visas are offered by some countries and are a way to obtain residency - but not citizenship. These visas are usually given in ex...

Israel Agrees To Ceasefire Deal With Lebanon: Report

In a significant development in West Asia, Israel has agreed to a ceasefire with Lebanon. The agreement comes into effect at midnight (Israel time) on November 27. Israel's Security Cabinet, the country's top decision-making body under the government has reportedly agreed to the ceasefire, news agency Reuters reported. Israel and Lebanon-based, Iran-backed militant group Hezbollah have been at war for several months now. Hezbollah had started attacking Israel with rockets and projectiles for over a year leading to a retaliation from Tel Aviv. Hezbollah has been backing Hamas, another Iran-backed militant group which it considers its ally. Israel and Hamas have been at war since October 2023, when the terrorists breached the Israel-Gaza border and took Israeli hostages at a concert. Hamas is based in Gaza, which is where the war began after Israel retaliated to the terror attack. Since then, the war in West Asia, popularly called the Middle-East, has led to large-scale destru...

NATO Vows Ukraine Backing After Russian Missile 'Intimidation'

NATO pledged support for Ukraine at talks in Brussels Tuesday after Russia's attempt to "intimidate" Kyiv's backers by firing an experimental hypersonic intermediate-range missile last week.  Russia on Thursday carried out a strike on the Ukrainian city of Dnipro which President Vladimir Putin said was a test of its new Oreshnik missile. Putin said the missile attack was in response to Ukraine firing weapons supplied by the United States and Britain into Russia. The Kremlin leader warned that Moscow felt "entitled" to hit military facilities in countries that allow Ukraine to use their weapons against Russia.  "During the meeting, NATO allies reaffirmed their support for Ukraine," the alliance said in a statement after the talks.   "The attack, which targeted Dnipro, is seen as another attempt by Russia to terrorise the civilian population in Ukraine and intimidate those who support Ukraine as it defends itself against Russia's illega...

Audi Drops Iconic Four Rings Logo In China, Internet Says "Bad Move"

German carmaker Audi has dropped its iconic four rings logo in China, a move that has shocked social media. The logo has been a symbol of the luxury cars since the 1930s, but wasn't a part of a new E Concept electric sportback that was showcased in Shanghai earlier this month. The car just carried 'AUDI' in all caps on the front. This comes at a time when Jaguar's new logo has sparked a buzz on social media, with users criticising the move. Internet is shocked by Audi's rebranding too - though it has so far only happened in China. "Very confusing branding choice," commented one user. "Bad move. Everyone knows the Audi logo. This new one is lame," said another. While explaining the reason behind Audi's move, another user expressed his disappointment by saying, "The Chinesification of foreign premium brands in China continues, one way to survive the bloodbath." The new AUDI logo is part of a project with Chinese automaker SAIC to ...

After Maharashtra Polls, A Fresh Battle Brews For The Top Post

"Complicated" is going to be the middle name of the assembly election in Maharashtra this year. But the state is bracing for an even tougher battle once the dust settles - one for the Chief Minister's chair. No matter which side wins, ruling alliance Mahayuti or the Opposition Maha Vikas Aghadi, that decision is unlikely to be simple or straightforward - so much so that many are expecting a political reconfiguration post-result, a sequel of what happened in 2019 that set the stage for a drastic political upheaval two years down the line. What makes the situation complicated is resolute nature of the claimants -- on each side, only two appear to be running for the top post. It is difficult to assess the ambitions of both factions of the NCP. On one side is veteran leader Sharad Pawar, dubbed by many as the Chanakya of Maharashtra, on the other hand, there is his nephew Ajit Pawar, who is being seen as the "kingmaker" in this election. In the ruling alliance, E...
